Dr. Deborah Wright, NP-C, Director of Wound Care and Quality
Dr. Wright has been a nurse for well over 35 years and counting. She received her BSN degree from LIU, The Brooklyn Center, in 1983. During her entry into nursing, she worked in a variety of fields until she found her niche in critical care at North Shore University Hospital. She spent 13 years caring for acute and critically ill patients with a variety of disease processes. During that time, she continued her educational quest to be the best in critical care and obtained her Clinical Nurse Specialist Degree from Adelphi University. She did not stop there; she saw her future as a Nurse Practitioner and continued at Adelphi University to obtain her Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2000.
Dr. Wright has held many positions during her career as Assistant Nurse Manage in the Intensive Care Unit at North Shore University Hospital. While at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, she had many roles from Critical Care Nurse Educator to Wound Care Specialist. Her independence and her drive for excellence led Brooklyn Hospital to be one of the premier hospitals for wound care in the Brooklyn area. She was well sort after for her skills and ability in managing and treating all types of complex wounds.
In 2015, Debbie graduated from SUNY, the University of Buffalo with her Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice. She currently is working at Northwell Health, Manhasset as a Nurse Practitioner between the ER and Telemetry Units, where she collaborates with physicians and other disciplines of the Health Care Team in the management of patients with a variety of acute illnesses.
In addition to her work at Northwell, Dr. Wright also provides her skills and medical knowledge in the care of our patient population here at Parker At Your Door. She possesses a professional and caring attitude in the management of our home-bound patients. She has a wealth of knowledge which she shares with our staff and patients and their families. Dr. Wright is our go-to person in the management of simple to complex wounds.
In her spare time, she loves to travel, enjoys reading mystery novels, and playing cards and board games including chess.
